iam an FTD and thinking of applying for advanced educational programs.would really like to know my chances and if anyone one tried plz do post how was the processes like and what do u think helped you getting accepted

go through all the threads here. this will give u an idea of acceptance criteria.

thank for the reply but i already did and noticed most of the people apply to advanced standing for international students.never came some who tried to apply to specialty program ortho,surgery...etc

I mixed up advanced education programs with advanced standing. my mistake.
there are a few threads that will give u an idea on advanced speciality programs too.
AEGD at Rochester is one that comes to mind.
Generally, getting into Ortho, OMS straight as an FTD may be difficult.
But getting into perio / prostho after an AEGD is do-able.

the most secure way of getting into a speciality of your choice remains getting a DDS/ DMD first.

I know brilliant people, specialists in their own countries, doing DDS first, cuz without that they did not stand a chance to get into the speciality of their choice.
