Took the MCAT last August but because I took it so late I planned to just apply with it this year. I am a Texas Resident but because my stats are potentially borderline for some texas schools, I was unsure if I should throw some apps out to schools outside of Texas. Could use some outside advice about it

Anyways, some details:
Year in school: Graduated May 2017 from a state school

Country/state of residence: TX

Cumulative GPA: 3.78

Science GPA: >=3.83

MCAT: 507 (127/125/129/126)

Research: (~1100 hours when I graduated, about an additional 2000 hours by next August)
  • Biology lab where I assisted a post doc with their project, no publications but I did have a poster presentation (~300 hours)
  • A Biochemistry lab where I had a major project I worked on with another undergraduate, no publications (but hopefully soon) and had to write a paper on it for research course credit (~800 hours)
  • I now work for that lab full time on other projects and will for 1 year (in progress, ~2000 hours by matriculation)

Volunteering (clinical/medical):
  • Volunteering in a Cancer infusion center (~100 hours)
  • Volunteered in another department making phone calls to patients (~40 hours)

Non-clinical volunteering:
  • Volunteered in English as a Second Language classes (~100 hours)
  • One-on-one tutored English as a Second language in the same organization for the TOEFL exam (~40 hours)
Shadowing
  • About 20 hours shadowing and Optometrist and a trauma surgeon in a clinical setting
Extracurricular activities
  • Involved in a couple of organizations on campus but not much else

Employment history
  • Worked in fast food for 1.5 years before going to college
  • Worked in the food court for 2 years during college
  • Worked as an RA for 6 months during my junior year
  • Worked in a Rehab facility for addictions where I talked with them, monitored clients, drove them to meetings, enforced rules, ect.-Paid research as a student (~6 months)
  • Am now currently working in the same lab full time running experiments and doing some administration work (Will be 1 year at the time of matriculation)
Specialties of interest: Open to anything since I am interested in a lot of specialties

School List:
  • All Texas Schools through TMDSAS
  • Baylor (I know its a long shot but I am just throwing one out there to see what happens)

I would appreciate some thoughts on this. Thanks!

You should receive several interviews from your Texas MD schools. If you are fluent in Spanish it will help your chances.

I hope so! Unfortunately I am not fluent in spanish since my dad didn't teach me lol but I can read and understand some, but not enough to pass it off as anything too impressive.

Yea definitely not. I have always wanted to be fluent, so it might be something I try and pick up before I start med school (When I hopefully get in haha).
